Usage
Can my bill go over my plan's price?
No. When you reach a limit, Auto pauses until that limit resets, and there are no overage fees.
What counts as usage?
The AI work Instrument's models do for you, including web searches and images. A long task with big files uses more than a short question.
Why do I see percentages?
Tasks vary too much for a message count to mean anything. A percentage shows how much of each limit is left, and the reset time shows when it comes back.
Does my ChatGPT plan count against these limits?
No. Tasks you run on your ChatGPT plan or your own keys use their limits, and Instrument's stay untouched.
Trial
How does the free trial work?
Choose Start free trial in the Instrument app. It lasts 7 days or until you use $1 of usage, whichever comes first. You don't need a card. After that, choose a plan in the app to keep using Instrument's models. Your ChatGPT plan and your own keys keep working either way.
Can I have the trial again?
Each account gets one trial, and an account that has had a plan can't start one.
Billing
Where do I subscribe?
In the Instrument app. Download it for Mac, sign in, and choose a plan there.
How do I switch plans?
Switch plans in the Instrument app. A bigger plan starts right away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the month. A smaller plan starts when your current month ends.
How do I cancel or update my card?
Go to your account page and choose Manage billing. A canceled plan keeps working until the end of the month you paid for, and nothing renews after that.
What happens if a payment fails?
Instrument's models pause until the payment goes through. Update your card from Manage billing on your account page, and they come right back.
